Lyrical Disciple

Timothy A. Abbey is a musician better known by his stage name Lyrical Disciple. Born in the mid-nineties, he faced the difficulties of poverty, mental health challenges, a broken home, and life in an at-risk neighbourhood. These troubling experiences were difficult to endure and made Timothy a troubled boy. In his teenage years, he entered a rebellious period, and, without the proper guidance, he was forced to learn many things the hard way.

Timothy has endured many trials and dramatic situations in his pursuit of fortune and status, including gang affiliation and drug use. This period of his life caused him to realize that the world could be dangerous, and he became more conscious of his surroundings, more developed in his thought life, and he was forced to mature. During this phase, Timothy began to receive visions and prophetic revelations from the Lord, revealing the true beauty in life. 

As Timothy got older, he dealt with mental illness, a high school heartbreak, and many other issues. He had been representing himself as a believer, yet he still held on to the gangster mentality of his upbringing and the gangster music style. Then he had a life-changing experience that caused him to truly repent of his old ways and dedicate his life to God so he would be forgiven of his sins and blessed for his future.

This experience with God made him realize that he should share his story and gift with others through music. Soon after, Timothy found himself with the church at the altar, asking God to give him the resources and ability to become seasoned in his craft, if it was what he was meant to do. Timothy was then introduced to a producer through a man who heard he was doing good work for the Lord. This introduction jump-started his career as an artist.

Artists such as Bizzle, Son of Savior, and A.I. have inspired Lyrical Disciple’s music ministry. He aims to create uplifting records that will win souls for the Lord as well as inspire and edify others. Lyrical Disciple has been blessed with the gift of a passionate and dynamic stage presence, which is evident to many who witness his performances.

The fruitfulness of his walk with the Lord has strengthened his faith in the promises of God. Lyrical Disciple is dedicated to fulfilling his divine purpose for the glory of God.
